JOPLIN, MO.--- The fourth leading cause of death in the United States is actually preventable. May is American Stroke Month and is the number one preventable cause of disability. Members with the American Stroke Association are encouraging people and family members to be aware of signs of a stroke.
Those could be face drooping, arm weakness and speech difficulty. If you notice any of those signs you're encouraged to call 911. Quick recognition and treatment will dramatically increase your odds of overcoming the stroke.
