JOPLIN, MO.--- Teenagers from 12 different schools around Missouri are bringing awareness back to their schools. The regional Youth Summit was held today at Northview Assembly of God. 9th through 12th grade students learned leadership skills, community involvement, and how to help others succeed. The Alliance of Southwest Missouri stressed the importance of driving. They talked about the dangers of distracted driving and how to implement a distracted driving prevention campaign in your own school.
"We really want our kids to be safe. You know the weather is getting nice, the kids are going to be out playing. We thought this would be a perfect time, a perfect time to get some education to the kids," said Kevin Theilen, Alliance of Southwest Missouri Coordinator.
