JOPLIN, MO.--- Employees from Con-way delivered a large donation of food items today. They dropped off over 300 pounds of food at St. Peter's Outreach House. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, over 15% of Missouri residents utilize the state's Food Stamp Program, which means the truck load will go a long way.
"Well this is just a product of what Con-way does with the food throughout the year. Outreach to the community to make sure needs are met especially this time of year. It's very important we believe to make sure causes like this are at the forefront," said Matthew Bergen, Con-way Truckload.
St. Peter's focuses on feeding individuals who are in need in the Joplin area. They also provide food in the form of delivery baskets, hot meals, and a public pantry.
