JOPLIN, MO.--- The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is hoping to see more people giving blood this season. The transfusion center has issued a code yellow on "O" negative and "O" positive blood types. Workers say with the holidays coming up, it's important that people with "O" negative blood give, because it's a universal blood type. She adds three lives can be saved for each pint of blood given.
"We support 38 hospitals in 38 countries, so it's important that we are able to get to where it's convenient for our donors to be able to give blood. So, not only do we have the centers, but we come out to different businesses and hospitals," said Pauline Cruse, Community Blood Center Supervisor.
You can give blood at the Freeman Business Center on 32nd Street from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
