Cecil Floyd Craft Show Relocates This Year

Construction causes the 24th annual Cecil Floyd Craft Show to relocate this year.
JOPLIN, MO -- Construction causes the 24th annual Cecil Floyd Craft Show to relocate this year. Nearly 130 vendors filled the hallways of Joplin South Middle School for the event, which is traditionally held at Cecil Floyd Elementary in Joplin. Construction of safe rooms at the elementary school caused organizers to relocate this year. They say many people were confused about why they moved the craft show, and they want everyone to know they'll be back at Cecil Floyd next year.

"This year we had to move it to South Middle School and change the date because of the availability of space in the Joplin School District because of the tornado. Next year we're looking to be back at Cecil Floyd after the construction of our Safe Room," said Stephanie Reither, Craft Show Coordinator.

The event raises nearly 20 thousand dollars for Cecil Floyd Elementary each year. The money comes from booth fees, which can range anywhere from 65 to 180 dollars.
