Carthage 2013 Art Walk

Artists from Carthage are preparing to show off their talents.
CARTHAGE, MO.--- Artists from Carthage are preparing to show off their talents. An art walk will be held on the historic downtown square tomorrow. Ed Grundy is the featured artist for the event. He is a woodworker who has made dozens of Christmas ornaments from wood.

He also made several maple leaf ornaments. Some of the other artists from the event painted them and they will be auctioned at the UMB Bank to raise money for the 2014 art walk season. Grundy says it's nice to see more artists contribute to the art walk each year.

"The differences in everybody, it kind of comes together. Cutting the maple leafs, different artists put their touch on them, make it special too," said Ed Grundy, Carthage Artist.

The art walk will be held on Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and signs will be all along the square with which businesses will be hosting the artwork. There are 33 artists signed up for the event, 14 different businesses will house the art and there will be 6 live musical acts. The event is free to the public.
