CARL JUNCTION, MO.--- A pie in the face is something most people probably wouldn't sign up for, but today, more than a dozen people volunteered for a good cause. Victims ranging from the CEO of Mercy Hospital to the Superintendent of Carl Junction schools got a face full of pink whipped cream. It's the payoff for a wildly successful breast cancer stamp fundraiser. Postmaster Sharon Clark used promise of a pie in the face to drum up support for her project.
"I had lots of customers come in and say 'I want to see my boss, I want to see my ceo, I want to see my fire chief take a pink pie in the face.' So yes, it had a big impact," said Sharon Calrk, Carl Junction Postmaster.
With an initial goal of 25,000 dollars, Clark raised more than 47,000 dollars, earning her the top spot in the nation.
