The main anchor from KOMU in Columbia, who is used to being in front of the camera, has written a book about his experiences covering the May 22nd Joplin tornado. 
JOPLIN, MO.--- For nearly 20 years, Jim Riek has been in front of the camera at KOMU News in Columbia, Missouri. Now, he's switching roles and is a going into print by writing a book.

2 years ago, he took several young journalism students from MU to cover the May 22nd tornado. He and the students have put their stories to paper to write a nearly 400 page book titled "Our words, Our Stories, Their Hope."

"I wanted to write a book because I wanted to keep Joplin in the news," said Jim Riek, Writer.
