Brad's Beat: National Team Roping Competition

Two area high school students will represent Missouri in a national rodeo competition in Wyoming.
SENECA, MO.--- Two area high schools students will represent the Show Me State in a national rodeo competition. Cole McAlister and Allie O'Brien recently won the State of Missouri Team Roping Competition.

They will now progress to the national competition in Wyoming. McAlister attends College Heights in Joplin and O'Brien goes to McDonald County High School. The team says they are confident they can win it for Missouri.

"We've got a good chance. He rides good, handles cattle. As long as I can do my job, I'm pretty sure I can get it done," said Allie O'Brien, 15 years old.

The competition will be held the week of July 12th and the two are making the 19 hour trip to Wyoming to compete.
