Brad's Beat: Joplin Leaf Pick Up

The last remnants of fall are disappearing from the streets of Joplin.
JOPLIN, MO.--- The last remnants of fall are disappearing from the streets of Joplin. The City of Joplin has started its leaf pick up program. Several crews have started picking up leaves on the outer edge of Joplin and are working their way to the center. By picking up the leaves, it helps prevent clogging in the storm drains which would cause damage to the roads and flooding. City officials say it will take about a month to get the whole city.

"If you're in the middle of the city. It'll be a week or so before we'll get to you. If you're on the permitter of the city, we will get to your leaves out now," said Scott Buffer, City of Joplin.

The crews also remind you to not put limbs or debris in the leaf piles. It will clog up their machines.
