JOPLIN, MO.--- Area kids will have a new do when they return to school. Vatterott College in Joplin hosted a free kids haircut day. The cosmetology students are practicing their skills on the kids hair. Kids are generally forgiving if you happen to make a mistake on their heads. But practice does make perfect.
"This is a school, we do want them to make the mistakes here so they can be better prepared when they leave this facility onto their career," said Crystal Pierce, Vatterott Cosmetology.
This was the first free kids haircut day at Vatterott, with more than 50 children attending the event. Due to the large turnout, they plan to make it an annual event.
