Brad's Beat Dresses To Haiti

A Joplin woman has made nearly a thousand dresses for girls in Haiti.
JOPLIN, MO.--- A Joplin woman has made nearly a thousand dresses for girls in Haiti. Barbara King has been making dresses since 1994 and was inspired by a higher power. She says people in third world countries barely make a few hundred dollars a year, and clothing is a luxury.

King makes a couple of dresses each day and has even delivered them personally on a mission trip. She says countries like Haiti don't have the support system we do in the United States.

"Here in America, we have food banks. We have clothing banks. Third world countries have none of that," says Barbara King, Dress Maker.

Barbara is always accepting donations of fabric. If you'd like to donate some you can call her church at 417-850-4915.
