AURORA, MO.--- Authorities are investigating a shooting in Aurora that left two people hospitalized. It happened around 6:30 p.m. in the Price Cutter parking lot. Investigators say a man drove into the parking lot and opened fire on a man and woman, that suspect is now in custody. A male victim was shot in his side and the woman was shot in her leg.
Police say their injuries are serious, but non-life threatening. Officers say it's unclear whether the victims knew the shooter. The suspect was taken in for questioning, but has not been identified. Authorities are also interviewing witnesses who were in the parking lot when shots were fired.
"I was in my car leaving and I heard shots fired, at least that's what I thought. I drove over here to check, and there were two people down. So, I did call the cops, everybody was screaming, didn't know what to do," said Taryn Holt, Witness.
"We haven't had a shooting like this in years, I can't even tell you the last time we had one," said Chief Richard Witthuhn, Aurora/Marionville Police Department.
Police are searching the parking lot for shell casings to help aid in their investigation.
