CARTHAGE, MO.--- A bank in Southwest Missouri raises awareness about hunger. Arvest Bank held a fundraiser called "Hungry for Hotdogs" at their Carthage branch at 2424 Fairlawn Avenue this afternoon. Workers sold around 50 hotdogs at $3 a piece to raise $150. It's part of the companywide effort "One Million Meals," which will continue through November 4th. All Arvest Bank locations are working together to provide one million meals for those who are unable to put food on their tables.
"A lot of families out there are going hungry, so we need to make awareness for those families and make sure we're doing something about it," said Meagan McBee, Arvest Bank Manager.
The Carthage branch hopes to raise $450 in donations or collect 900 nonperishable food items. All donations collected by Arvest will go to Ozarks Food Harvest.
