JOPLIN, MO.--- One local business is seeing a lot of buyers before the new year. Black Market Fireworks Owner Aaron Colson says 98% of their monthly sales will come from people buying fireworks the last two days of the year. Sales on fireworks around New Year's does not come close to sales for the fourth of July. Colson says people using fireworks on New Years Eve aren't looking to shoot fireworks all night.
"The customer is a little different than they are for July 4th. They want one or two big items to shoot at midnight, rather than a lot of smaller items that take a lot longer. A lot of people like to be able to just run outside, shoot their firework and come back in," said Aaron Colson, Black Market Fireworks Owner.
Colson says only adults should light any fireworks and to have a bucket of water handy if needed
