JOPLIN --- The event was held at Central City Christian Church. People had the chance to address the Sheriff about any concerns they have. Today's event is part of the Police Department's Community Policing Project in part of western Jasper County. The event featured a canine demonstration, kids fingerprinting and food for participants. Sheriff Randee Kaiser says a continued concern is criminal activity the community witnesses. He says these meetings are a great way for people to give information relating to these issues.
"These are the people that we serve and just exchange that information and be with the people that we protect and serve every day, I think that's a very important role," says Sheriff Randee Kaiser, Jasper County.Sheriff Kaiser also says they plan on having many more events for the community as part of their Community Policing Project.
