Pitt State loses Fall Classic; MSSU upsets Mo. West

Pitt State took off to a 14-0 against Northwest Mo. State in the Fall Classic, but 31 unanswered points and two costly Gorilla turnovers allowed the Bearcats to complete the comeback and win 31-21.

Meanwhile in St. Joseph, Missouri Southern went punch for punch with Missouri Western and scored with two minutes left to take a 31-30 lead. The Lions defense came up big with two turnovers in the final minutes to seal the upset.

In the Big 12, Oklahoma never gave Texas a chance in the Red River Rivalry. The Sooners won 63-21.

Locally, Monett High School's softball team faced Blair Oaks in the state quarterfinals. The Lady Cubs stayed close for the first three innings, but the Lady Falcons pulled away late to win 7-1.
