Pitt State Stunned at Home in Front of a Record Crowd, Missouri Southern Also Falls at Home

In front of a record crowd of 11,910 fans at Carnie Smith Stadium, the 7th ranked Gorillas suffered a 63-14 defeat at the hands of 16th ranked Missouri Western. The Gorillas scored first before seeing the Griffons score 56 unanswered.

Meanwhile in Joplin, 5th ranked Northwest Missouri State was in charge of things pretty much from the get go, and ultimately ruined the Lions chances at a third straight win with the score 38-14. Senior defensive tackle Brandon Williams did set the school record for career sacks in the loss for Missouri Southern.
