MISSOURI--- A wrongful death lawsuit in a deadly boat crash on Grand Lake is settled. The parents of Rachel Swetnam filed a lawsuit against John Deselms, his parents and their company Seven Anchors LLC. The lawsuit was settled for an undisclosed amount of money. It will be evenly split between the Swetnam's and the family of William Varner, who also died in the crash.

Both Swetnam and Varner died May 14th of last year, when the boat they were riding in crashed into an unoccupied 100 foot houseboat that was docked. The two were seated on the bow of the boat, they were pronounced dead at the scene. Deselms admitted to drinking and doing drugs prior to the crash. According to court documents, Deselms had a blood-alcohol level of .18, which is twice the legal limit.
