Webb City Students Visit the Wildcat Glades Conservation and Audubon Center
By Brad Douglas
JOPLIN, MO.--- This week marks one of the busiest at the Wildcat Glades Conservation and Audubon Center. Students from Webb City had a chance to learn about various animals in the wild. They got to pet frogs and salamanders. Also, an art day camp is being held this week. Students had a chance to create piece of nature inspired artwork. Organizers say it's a chance for the kids to get up close with nature.
"This is a living laboratory where they can come, they can do hands on projects. They're seeing what they're really learning. In a book, it is just words. Here, they're seeing the animals, see its heart beat, see it run or fly. So they get very excited and learn a lot more," said Donna Whitehead, Director.
Organizers hope the students become regulars at the center after this visit.
