Webb City School District Breaks Ground on Two Safe Room Projects
By Gretchen Bolander
WEBB CITY, MO.--- Construction is officially underway at a pair of local schools. The Webb City School District officially broke ground on two safe room projects. The ceremony means work is underway at the Webster Primary Center. The addition will be able to shelter up to 700 people, and will double as a gymnasium when skies are clear.
We're really excited. We have an opportunity here that we got a part of through a grant, the district is also funding some of it. The voters approved us with a levy for bonds up to $9 million dollars," said Dr. Tony Rosetti, Webb City School Superintendent.
Meanwhile, the Truman campus also officially started construction on another safe room, both projects are expected to be done by the start of school in the fall.
