According to the school superintendent, many children have long walks to school or their bus routes. To protect children from bitter cold temperatures, school buses will pick children up at their home. And where buses cannot go, other drivers with vans or cars will pick those children up.
The entire goal is to provide door to door service to keep children from waiting in severe weather. This cold weather plan will be placed into effect only when necessary.
If a parent is concerned about their child being picked up in cold weather, they are encouraged to contact the school district's office at 620-457-8350.
