Update: Delaware County Escaped Inmates Now in Police Custody
By Priscilla Mace
JAY, OK.--- Two men who escaped from the Delaware County Jail early this morning are back behind bars tonight. Delaware County Sheriff Harlan Moore confirmed Pete Wolfe and Anthony Scott Anderson were taken into custody around 8 this evening.
Sheriff Moore says deputies with the Mayes County Sheriff's Office found the men between Spavinaw and Salina, Oklahoma. Representatives with Mayes County say they found two sets of orange jail clothes behind an abandoned house in Spavinaw. Blood was found on the clothing, it's unclear if the blood was found on just one suit or on both. Sheriff Moore drove to Mayes County and brought both men back to the Delaware County Jail.
Sheriff Moore says the two men broke their cell window with a steel grate at 1:45 this morning. He says there was an indication that one of them might be armed with a makeshift weapon. Wolfe was arrested for armed robbery on November 16th of last year. Anderson was arrested earlier this month for failure to pay restitution from a 2010 plea to second degree rape.
