UPDATE: Both escaped McDonald County inmates back in custody

MCDONALD COUNTY, Mo. - Update: The second man who escaped from the McDonald County jail Wednesday night is now back behind bars. 

Christopher Walker was taken into custody around 7:30 Friday morning. The McDonald County Sheriffs Office received a tip that Walker was spotted in Stone County, near Branson.

Officers say they believe Walker was being helped by a male family member. That man is considered dangerous and is reportedly driving a silver Ford Explorer.

 

Previous story update: One of the two inmates who escaped the McDonald County jail has been captured. Around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, one of the two inmates who escaped the McDonald County jail, John Weeks, was captured near Longview. Christopher Walker is still on the loose.

Earlier this morning the suspects were thought to be driving a vehicle stolen from Pineville. However, the Dodge Caravan was later found between Anderson and Goodman.  

Police are not sure if Walker is traveling on foot or was assisted by a passing driver. Anyone with information should contact the McDonald County Sheriff's Office at (417) 223-4319.

 

Previous story update: McDonald County officials say the stolen vehicle that the inmates took off in has been recovered between Anderson and Goodman.

However, the two inmates, John Weeks and Christopher Walker, are still on the lose. At this time, police are unsure if the the inmates left walking or had help.

Two inmates who escaped from the McDonald County jail could now be driving a stolen vehicle from Pineville.

Sheriff Michael Hall says John Weeks and Christopher Walker could be driving a 2006 silver Dodge Caravan with the possible Oklahoma tag 073-DLV.

Wednesday night, staff discovered Weeks and Walker were not at supper for a head count.

He adds it appears they were able to get the shower heads off and went up through an air conditioning duct and out through the new construction.
