Tornado Watch for SW Missouri 10/25

A tornado watch is in effect for all of southwest Missouri till 6 a.m.

This watch includes the counties of Vernon, Barton, Jasper, Newton, McDonald, Cedar, Dade, Lawrence and Barry.

According to the National Weather Service showers and thunderstorms will develop rapidly over extreme SE KS and western Missouri through midnight.

These storms will affect areas west of Versailles to Mt. Vernon to Anderson line.

Expect winds of 40-50 m.p.h. as the storms pass with severe storms producing winds in ecxess of 60 m.p.h. and isolated tornadoes will be possible.

In addition, expect wind gusts to 35 m.p.h. across the entire area overnight.
