Stapleton Nature Center Clean-Up

JOPLIN, Mo. - It was a day full of the great outdoors as students came out to help clean up the Stapleton Nature Center.

They were in the area pulling weeds trimming trees and just plain cleaning up.

The Nature Center is used for an abundance of different outdoor related things, like a observing a living outdoor habitat.

Kids are even able to watch fish grow in the pond.

It's something kids have to actually apply for and teachers say it's really important for their learning.

"Here at Stapleton we use it for educational purposes as a outdoor learning space," says Third Grade Teacher Carrie Routledge.

Routledge adds she loves nature and hopes to help kids understand why and show them how cool it really is.
