Seneca School District's Superintendent Resigns
By Priscilla Mace
SENECA, MO.--- Doctor Steve Wilmoth has been on paid administrative leave since May as the school's attorney investigated ethics allegations. In February, the Missouri Ethics Commission reprimanded Wilmoth. He worked as a consultant for a company called Education Services of America while also working as Seneca's superintendent.
During that time, the school district hired E.S.A. to handle teaching at-risk students without knowing about Wilmoth's position with the company. The Missouri Ethics Commission has ruled the issue a conflict of interest and fined Wilmoth more than $8,000. Doctor Howard Neeley will serve as Seneca's superintendent for the time being.
