Having trouble coming up with gift ideas that make a big difference in somebody's life but you're a little short on funds this holiday season? How about giving the gift of life?
School blood drives account for a huge amount of the donations needed to stock 40 area hospitals served by the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks. But with schools being out over the holidays, CBCO needs to come up with other donations to pick up the slack. That's why the upcoming "Miracle of Giving Blood" drive is so important.
"That tends to affect our blood supply so this is just a little extra incentive to bring our blood supply back up,” says Mary Conner, CBCO Collections Supervisor.
The miracle of giving blood drive begins its 23rd year on December 11th. Those who donate will receive this free, long sleeve, t-shirt. The Joplin Donation Center is located at the Northpark Mall and is open from 11am to 6pm Monday through Friday.
