A little less than half of the employees affected are assistant managers. That's according to Sam's Club Spokesman Bill Durling. The company eliminated some hourly positions also. Affected employees will be paid for 60 days and are encouraged to look for other jobs at Sam's Clubs or its parent company, Wal-Mart. If workers can't find a job within the company, officials say they'll receive some severance.
