JOPLIN, MO--- The Salvation Army is helping the homeless escape the smothering summer temperatures. The Salvation Army in Joplin says they are providing shelter to people who need to get out of the heat. Their lobby, which includes air conditioning and a water station, is open from 9am-5pm. If this heat wave continues they will consider extending their hours.
