JOPLIN, MO.--- CBCO is hosting its 19th "Salute A Veteran" blood drive. The event is being held due to regional blood supply shortages. CBCO is currently on a code yellow alert for all negative blood types due to less than a two day reserve supply for patients at 38 hospitals in the region. Those giving blood as part of this event have the opportunity to write a thank you note to any veteran they know, the notes will then will be mailed by CBCO staff members.

"Our donors are some of the most giving people in the world. Anybody that is willing to give some of their bodily fluid for their friends and neighbors of sick and injured patients right here in the Ozarks, then that's a really cool thing," said Chris Pilgrim, CBCO Marketing Manager.

The blood drive will be held June 16th through July 6th at CBCO centers throughout the region. The Joplin location is inside the Northpark Mall.
