CARTHAGE, MO.--- The council was set to talk about the proposed tax levy for next year and a proposal that would allow chickens inside city limits. However, several residents came forward speaking out about allegations involving the fire chief. The Carthage Fire Department drafted a letter of no confidence in the fire chief. Sunday night, 18 members of the fire department took a vote of no confidence. 78% of the department voted no confidence, saying his poor tactical and personal decisions lead them to decide he's no longer fit to do his job. The board did go into closed session to discuss the matter further.
