WEBB CITY, MO--- Community members asked the Representative Charlie Davis about the state of V.A. Hospitals in Missouri. Davis is Vice-Chairman of the Veterans Committee in the House. Here's what he had to say regarding the recent V.A. Hospital issues.
"We need to step up to the plate and if the federal government is going to drop the ball taking care of our veterans, then we're going to look at ways that the state can take care of those needs. And that's one of the most important things that we can do," says Davis.
The state funds the Missouri Veterans Commission and the commission is responsible for making sure veterans are receiving proper healthcare. Davis says the legislature needs to focus their attention on holding the Veterans Commission to a higher standard.
