Missouri's 2018 legislative session kicks off tomorrow and there are a wide range of issues to be considered.
Transportation issues are a top priority for representative Bill Reiboldt of Neosho. That includes a potential gas tax increase for highway projects and making seat belt use a primary offense. And he adds that it's time for the legislature to consider setting the rules for driverless cars on Missouri roads.
"You know I have a lot of concern. I have family and grandkids that are beginning to drive and safety's a very important issue to me,” says Bill Reiboldt.
Representative Reiboldt believes with the right rules in place, driverless cars could be a safer alternative than those cases where drivers are already paying too much attention to other distractions like a cell phone.
