JOPLIN, MO.--- The City of Joplin is making it easier for you to recycle when you're out and about. Crews are in the process of installing recycling bins at locations around town including parks and pools. They're placed next to normal trash cans, making it more convenient to recycle aluminum, tin, glass and plastic on the go.

"They don't want to have to take them home. It's called recycling away. It's kind of the trend for the nation now. So we're trying to help people be able to recycle while they're not at home," said Mary Anne Phillips, Joplin Recycling Coordinator.

The city started adding the recycling bins last year. Several are already in place in Parr Hill Park, Cunningham Park and the city athletic complex.
