PITTSBURG, KS --- The Indian Student Association at PSU hosted a Festival of Colors event today.

Also known as Holi, students threw an assortment of colored powders in the air and danced to music. Holi is a Hindu festival observed at the end of the winter season on the last full moon day of the lunar month.

The president of the Indian Student Association says the event is to welcome spring and spread happiness.

"It's a cultural event, so we want people to know about indian culture.  tell them this is how we celebrate festivals in India," PSU student Kartik Keshre said.  "And it also comes in the spring, so you know people get a break from their studies and they can enjoy the weather after long winters"

PSU has had a Festival of Colors event for the last 6 years.
