NEOSHO, MO.--- Public schools from Southwest Missouri celebrated Presidents' Day by going to school. While originally scheduled as a holiday, Neosho students and faculty used the holiday as a make up day. The cold winter weather has snow days adding up for many schools. For Neosho, students and teachers have taken 15 snow days. Neosho's superintendent says making up school days is a positive thing.

"The days that we have lost, all of these days occur before testing. And many times when a school district makes up days, it comes in May or the end of the school year after the testing cycle. So teachers are kind of strapped or have to hustle to get the information covered," said Dan Decker, Neosho Superintendent.

Neosho wasn't alone, several school districts in the area used Presidents' Day as a make up day.
