PARSONS, KS.--- The Parsons police chief is retiring. Scott Gofourth says his last day will be September 19th. He's served with the Parsons Police Department since December 1987. During his 27 year career, he's worked his way up the ranks from public safety officer to chief. He took over as police chief in 2012 after John Keele retired. Parsons city leaders say Gofourth's dedication to the community has made Parsons a safer place.
