NYE Fireworks Banned in Joplin

JOPLIN, Mo. -
New Years Eve can be a huge celebration across the United States and in Joplin, just make sure you leave the fireworks to the professionals while in Four States.

A Joplin City ordinance outlaws the use of fireworks on the New Years holiday, or any other day besides Independence Day celebrations.

This includes the possession of any toy cannon, blank cartridge, firecracker or explosive material made to shoot off into the air.

Party favor devices like champagne bottles, confetti pistols, poppers and snappers are legal for any year-round celebration.

Joplin Law Enforcement Officers will be patrolling the city looking for anyone setting off illegal materials.
