Nine candidates already running for city council

The 2018 Joplin City Council race is already attracting a lot of attention.

Nine potential candidates have already picked up packets which could lead to their name on the ballot. To qualify, they must submit a petition with 150 signatures from registered Joplin voters by January 9th.

Those starting the process today including current council members Gary Shaw and Ryan Stanley along with former council member Morris Glaze. Others picking up petitions include Harvey Hutchinson.

Douglas Lawson, Joshua Bard, Steve Urie, Diane Reid Adams, and Anthony Monteleone.
