The vaccinations were previously available only to those in priority groups designated by the Centers for Disease Control, such as pregnant women and those with chronic medical conditions.
The change comes as a result of the health department seeing a drop in the amount of high-risk residents requesting the vaccine.
Clinics to receive either the injectable or intranasal vaccine will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the health department in Neosho.
Nursing Supervisor Patti Yates says that the goal is to vaccinate as many people as possible.
Vaccinations are available by appointment only.
To schedule an appointment to receive the vaccine, call the Newton County Health Department at 451-3743.
