JOPLIN, MO---The mural will be located at 8th and Main Street. It is titled, "Then, Now and Forever: The Performing Arts of Joplin, Missouri." The Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce chose New York City artist and muralist, Garin baker, to construct it. It took Baker about a year to create the painting. Once completed, the mural will be 90 feet long and 20 feet high.

Baker says, "I did tremendous amount of research finding out about the history of the performing arts in Joplin. I visited Ballerinas that are working in Joplin now, I visited modern art dance groups that are working now."

The materials used for this mural are acrylic paint on cloth. There will be a dedication ceremony for the finished piece on Sunday, May 4th at 2pm in the parking lot at 8th and Main Street.
