OKLAHOMA --- Residents in Oklahoma who want to get a concealed carry gun license could be impacted by a change in certification requirements.

Oklahoma House Bill 2874 changes the self defense act gun safety training requirements by setting an expiration on certification.

Currently, training certificates have no expiration.  Under this bill, certificates will only be valid for three years from the date of training.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is asking people who already have completed their SDA training course to start the application process as soon as possible.

House Bill 2874 will go into effect November 1st of this year.
