MIAMI, OK.--- Student affair leaders have welcomed back students with a week full of activities. Since Saturday, students have been given a chance to participate in a scavenger hunt, sand volleyball, a camp fire social and various other events. The purpose is to connect students to each other.

"If a student is connected to this campus, it makes it a lot easier for them to stay. A lot harder for them to go home if they're feeling home sick, that kind of thing. They have connections, somebody to talk to and it just makes it a better situation for them," said Amy Ishmael, NEO VP Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.

She adds providing meeting opportunities for students allows them to be successful later on in life.
