JOPLIN, Mo. - Volunteers provide more than a half-a-million dollars worth of free care at a recent free dental clinic.
The Missouri Mission of Mercy clinic, also known as MOMOM, was held Friday and Saturday of last week at the MSSU Leggett & Platt Center.
A spokesperson for the group says about 1,200 adults and children received free services at the event.
A total of 1,600 extractions were performed as well as 800 fillings and 900 cleanings.
The group says those services totaled more than $800,000 worth of care.
It was the first time the event was held in Joplin and the sixth year overall for the clinic.
