JOPLIN, Mo. - The university's Social Work Club will hold a non-partisan voter registration event this Friday. The event will take place at the Joplin campus, located at 724 Illinois Avenue. Community members who aren't registered to vote can come in and sign up to cast their ballots this November.
Also in attendance will be several community organizations that support police reformation. The Missouri Health Care for All, Circles Poverty Program and The National Association Of Mental Illness will be in attendance to provide information to participants.
"I think that some people don't even realize what community supports that we do have out there. So, this is going to give everyone the opportunity to come to one location and find out what Joplin has to offer," explained Arielle Speer of the Missouri State University Social Work Club.
The event runs from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. this Friday and is free to the public.
