JOPLIN, MO--- Students at Missouri Southern kicked off the university's annual phone-a-thon today. Over the next two weeks, students will be calling Missouri Southern alumni and friends to gain financial support for the university. The goal for this year's effort is to raise one hundred thousand dollars. The donated funds will go directly back into developing the university.
"It just goes towards improvements on campus, and scholarships, the students really benefit, the students that are here get to improve their communication skills. You know it's the all-around. Ties it together," says Supervisor Samantha Wiley.
According to unversity officials, this phone drive provides unrestricted money and strongly supports the university's budget.
