Missouri lawmakers will take their first step toward the 2018 legislative session tomorrow.
December 1st starts the period for pre-filing bills for consideration next year. Senate President Pro Tem Ron Richard Predicts a top priority will be addressing a budget issue involving funding cuts for nursing home residents.
MO Sen. Ron Richard: "We're going to have some health care legislation filed to try to rectify that at the first of the year. Hopefully it will be one of the first things out."
Other topics likely to be addressed include an expansion of the state's prescription drug monitoring program, utility regulations, and tort reform.
