JOPLIN, MO.--- The Ronald McDonald House in Joplin receives a large donation of food from Missouri farmers. The Missouri Farm Bureau donated hundreds of dollars worth of food to the charitiy. This is "Thank A Farmer" week and famers in Missouri are donating to Ronald McDonald Charities across the state. The center helps families who have sick children at the Joplin hospitals. It provides them a home away from home as they stay close to their children.

"It's wonderful to hear this. So many families can utilize it rather than to rely on vending machines and not having a nutrious meal," said Diane Olson, Missouri Farm Bureau.

The food is expected to last for several months.
