Joplin, MO- A recent study of the Joplin scene shows the community generates 5.4 million dollars for the city annually.
The year long survey was conducted by Connect2Culture and the nonprofit "Americans for the Arts"
Its shows that more than 190 people are employed full-time by the non-for-profit arts sector, and more than 187,000 people attended arts events in the Joplin area in 2015.
Conect2Culture's President says the survey shows that the arts can be a magnet , attracting people to Joplin.
The information for study was collected through anonymous surveys. Local non-profits also released their financial information, allowing the study to determine the economic impact.
